A Behind-the-Scenes Look at BrightWave’s 2019 Mad Lib Holiday Email >

There’s no shortage of seasonal traditions here at BrightWave. From our annual Thanksgiving potluck and holiday party, to new traditions like Secret Santa, we go all out for the most wonderful time of the year.

 

Another annual staple is the BrightWave holiday card. Each year, our email-loving team sends cheer to our clients, partners and friends with an out-of-the-inbox interactive email. You may remember our 2018 message for its special gif that animated when moused over, or our 2017 card which gave viewers the ability to trigger four different animated scenes featuring our chief client officer as Santa Claus.

With a treasure trove of seasonal greetings to top, we knew our 2019 card would require some imagination. So, we channeled our inner kid and used a childhood favorite pastime for this email — Mad Libs. 

Upon opening the email, the audience was greeted by the North Pole with an interactive form to play Mad Libs, right inside the inbox. Users were asked to fill in nouns and adjectives in order to receive a special gift. Once submitting their words, a landing page showed users a personalized holiday message which incorporated their Mad Libs.

 

 

Now that 2020 has officially begun, we can’t wait to see how other brands are integrating engaging design features like these (and much more) at EiQ this April.
