If 2018 shapes up to be anything like 2017, we’re in for a wild ride here at BrightWave. A ride full of unexpected challenges, savvy problem-solving and, surprisingly, a lot of fun, to be more precise.
We published quite a few blogs, case studies and event recaps last year. We even put out our first ever content-focused eBook with Movable Ink right before the holiday break. Now before we really launch our stream of content for 2018, let’s take a quick look back at our most favorite and most read stuff from 2017.
For a good month last spring, EiQ was pretty much all we could talk about over here. This never-been-done-before, totally content-focused email conference was the definition of a labor of love and we can’t wait to share the 2018 agenda with you all very soon. In the meantime, check out the 10 Things We Will Never Forget from EiQ 2017 and 6 Important Learnings from Our First EiQ Event that Transcend Business for a taste of what the intelligent email gathering has to offer.
Year after year, we go all out in the inbox with our holiday card. The 2016 design featured hand drawn figures layered on top of a scrolling @keyframes animation. Shortly after it was sent, the developer wrote up this extremely educational blog explaining the fancy-schmany (gif free!) coding technique that made the oh-so-celebratory email possible.
We asked our EiQ 2017 attendees to fill out a short survey about their jobs, their challenges and their resources. They gave us some fascinating answers that we compiled into a neat and shiny, stat-driven email marketing infographic all about Data Management, Platform Strategy and more.
Early last year, we debuted a kind of monthly “industry snapshot” in a column entitled, “What’s Up in Email?” This quick industry check-in rounds up impactful articles, videos and campaign examples from the previous month and presents them in an easy-to-read nugget of email marketing awesomeness. The December 2017 edition came out just before Christmas – go give it a skim to get back into the swing of things.
According to this 2017 Mizuno case study, email marketing and experiential marketing aren’t so different after all. The featured project put customer experience first, transforming a transactional glove rental series into a beautiful, helpful string of messages.
A successful app launch is no easy feat but intelligent email content sure helps! This early 2017 case study with Movable Ink shows how we used their mobile device targeting option to support the launch of Chick-fil-A’s highly beloved loyalty app, Chick-fil-A One.
Unfortunately, there is no secret formula for the perfect subject line. Your audience is a unique and fickle group of people, after all. Still, there are some rules that can help guide you to a winning subject line. We wrote about them back in August and we plan on using them well into 2018.
