EiQ Speaker Spotlight: David Sierk of Google >

Yesterday, we dropped some huge EiQ news: the initial speaker lineup is hot off the press and contains 15+ email experts from some of the biggest and best brands. And it doesn’t stop here– this impressive list of speakers from top companies like Chick-fil-A, Google and Char-Broil will only get longer as we approach the best day in email.

To commence the speaker portion of our EiQ spotlight series, we’re highlighting Google Product Marketing Manager, David Sierk. With a focus on building marketing automation programs and tools designed to help B2B marketers exceed their goals, David will be sharing all (well, maybe not all but a significant chunk!) of his email-enhancing knowledge at our second EiQ gathering.

Check out what gets him excited in the email world, why he thinks Chubbies has great emails, and what’s on his Atlanta to-do list.

What do you get excited about in the email world?

I love how dedicated Email Marketers are to their craft. I’m always impressed by the depth of knowledge and drive to evolve their programs whenever I speak to Email Marketers.

What part of an email is the most important to drive success?

I don’t know if it’s the most important, but I’m a big believer in From Name/Subject Line/Preview Text combos to drive opens and engagement.

What advice do you have for newcomers to the email industry?

1) Learn as much as you can from your peers and resources available to you (e.g. books, blogs, etc) and 2) Try as many things as you can as often as you can.

Who is a brand that you think does a great job with their email program?

Chubbies shorts. They embrace their brand fully, know their audience very well, and create amazing and hilarious content.

What ideas are you excited about sharing at EiQ?

I have a very non-traditional path in email and marketing in general, and I’m always excited to reassure people that as long as they are passionate and willing to learn, they can be successful.

What’s your favorite thing about Atlanta? If you haven’t been here before, what’s on your list to see and do?

First that we are going in April and not July, and to eat at Spondivits.

Good news, David– Spondivits is only 15 minutes from the EiQ venue at the Loews Hotel!
