What do you get excited about in the email world?

The fact that it is the perfect middle ground between being “specialized” and being “master of all things”. While I have always specialized in email marketing; email has opened up doors for many fruitful opportunities from SMS, app building, creative, reporting, campaign implementation, data architecture and so much more.

What part of an email is the most important to drive success?

The data – period.

What advice do you have for newcomers to the email industry?

Don’t get the “squirrel” effect from all the new and shiny toys! While all the new bells and whistles coming out keep the industry a fun one to be in – always remained focus on the data, your customer, your process, and your internal buy-in for email marketing.
